Thursday night Munich definitely was the place to be for us fashion lovers. I told you before I was going to the "Lange Nacht der Mode" at the Filmcasino right at the "Odeonsplatz". It was the first time and it is supposed to be continuing the next years and
develop into our own fashion week! be a kind of opener for the following order show here in Munich (changed after anonymus told me in the comments below). You could only attend by personal invitation, but I didn't come at 6 pm like all the other guests. I arrived there together with my sister Vivi already at 2 pm. We two and some other girls helped preparing everything for the night. Things like carrying heavy cardboard boxes, composing the goodie bags and arranging them on the seats... It was very great to see the rooms transforming into the official party location for that night, see the models and dancers and designers arrive and so on... That way I was also able to take pictures before everything was going to be overcrowded:
Bahar Kizil rehearsing.
Between 5 and 6 pm the whole place filled up with people more and more.
I think everything really looked very great in the end with all the lights on etc.
At 7 pm the first of the 3 fashion shows started: Sonja Kiefer's
Her feminine collection for F/W 2012 /13 was dominated by green shades, black, white and metallic. She showed body conscious dresses for everyday or the office in jersey and partydresses for a great night out with sequins or lace. Throughout the whole collection vests and hats out of fur were combined to the them - so the big trend of this year's winter will be still a great theme next year.
Thanks to Liliana Matthäus not taking the place reserved for her I could sit there instead and had a perfect view. Many famous people from Munich were there and filled the front row. Model Papis Loveday, Eva Habermann, Verena Kerth, stylist Samuel Sohebi and Maxi Arland who both sat directly across me, Peyman Amin, to name just the ones you might know. There were still so many others you probably won't know as they're "only" famous here in Munich and Germany like radio personalities, TV hosts...
Then after a break it was Marcel Ostertag's turn. I love his designs ever since, so it was even more amazing to attend his show in which he showed designs of his actual collection that weren't shown before. I really adore his collection with its creative patterns, sequins and beaded fringes on airy dresses and tunics, it's definitely my favorite of the three! Also, he used metallic cloths especially in gold very often. Also the wonderful big statement necklaces are great!
Model Mandy Bork (she participated in Germany's Next Topmodel)
wearing a shimmering overall with fringes.
During the break after Marcel's show Bahar Kizil presented her new album. It was her first performance after the breakup with her former band Monrose. She sang some of her new songs which I really liked. Great beats and just making you wanna dance. You're definitely gonna hear more of her, I'm sure.
It got more and more crowded the more time passed and in the end there were so many people all around you you could barely make your way through. That's the only thing that was a bit annoying. For next year when even more people want to come (as I assume) there definitely need to be a bigger location with more space for everyone.
And then the last show was Tom Rebl's. He only designs men fashion what I'm -as a girl- not such a big expert in. It also was the first men fashion show I saw. His designs were quite dark, with a lot of black and grey but also gold and dark green and I even saw a little red at a collar ;)
After the shows were over at around 10:30 pm the After Show Party could begin!
It was so much fun to meet a lot of other people crazy about fashion. There were so many other bloggers from Munich and I even got to know one from Vienna who came here just for that night!
A very wonderful and fashionable night out in Munich! Thanks again for the invitation!
Luckily, our dad picked us up late at night so we didn't have to take the s-bahn what would have taken us approximately twice the time. Anyway my feet were hurting like hell. Not so much at the evening but
as I got up the next morning and stepped out of bed the did. And din't stop hurting until today... So what I learned for the future: I will take my heels with me and just take them on for the actual event not for the setup!
Let me know which collection is your favorite!
